Subject: Notice of Planned Asbestos Removal Works at Silverdale School, 4 Longmore Lane, Silverdale, Auckland

Dear Parents, Caregivers, Staff, Neighbours, and Community Members,

We wish to inform you that licensed asbestos removal works will be carried out at:
Location: Silverdale School, 4 Longmore Lane, Silverdale, Auckland
Scheduled Dates: 08/08/2026 to 09/08/2026
Working Hours: 07:00 – 19:00

The works form part of planned construction activities and will be undertaken by a licensed asbestos removal contractor in accordance with New Zealand health and safety requirements.

Safety Measures
To ensure the safety of students, staff, visitors, and the wider community, the following controls will be in place:
The asbestos removal will be completed outside of school attendance hours.
The asbestos removal area will be isolated from occupied spaces.
Access to the work area will be restricted to authorised personnel only.
Warning signage and barriers will be installed around the work zone.
Dust suppression and containment systems will be used as required.
Asbestos waste will be securely removed and disposed of at approved facilities.
Air monitoring and clearance procedures will be undertaken.

What You May See
Temporary fencing, barriers, or warning signs.
During the works (after hours and weekends) you may observe:
Workers wearing protective clothing and respiratory equipment.
Specialist vehicles and equipment associated with the removal process.
These measures are standard practice for asbestos removal and are designed to ensure the work is completed safely.

Impact on School / Community Operations
School/community activities will continue as normal.
