Principal Award

Congratulations to the following children who received principal awards at last week’s assembly.

Smart Watches

We are finding that children with smart watches at school are becoming distracted by then during their learning time. If your child has a smart watch once they are at school these watches need to be given to their teacher and the watch will be stored in the teachers offices for the day and then returned back to the child at the end of the day. If you need to contact your child during the school day please call the office. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

Garden To Table Programme – Working Bee – Saturday 9 March 9.00am – 12.00pm

Silverdale School is very lucky to have the Garden To Table programme in school which is available to Year 3 and 4 children. The aim of this programme is to give the students the opportunity to use the fresh seasonal produce they have grown, harvested and then cooked to enjoy a delicious meal they have produced themselves at the end of each session.  

Children love the programme because it is authentic learning. They enjoy helping out in the garden and working alongside their peers in small groups with volunteers and garden and kitchen specialists. This is hands-on learning and a fun way to absorb the information. It also helps them to interact and work collaboratively with others, promoting teamwork.
