Update of Our Covid Case Management Protocols

Kia ora, Talofa, Malo e leleli, Kia orana, Fakalofa lahi Atu, Taloha Ni, Ni sa bula, 你好, Namaste, 안녕하세요, Hola, Xin chao.

Currently we are in Stage 1: School is open with all students learning on-site.

Below to an update of our Covid Case Management Protocols.

The changes are:

My child is a household contact. What does this mean?

If you live with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 you must follow these steps (whether you are vaccinated against COVID-19 or not):

  • Your Day 0 is the same Day 0 as the first positive case in your household.
  • Get a Day 3 test or sooner if symptoms develop. If it’s positive, start a new 10 days of self-isolation.
  • Get a Day 10 test or sooner if symptoms develop. If it’s positive, start a new 10 days of self-isolation.
  • After 10 days, as long as you have a negative Day 10 test and no Covid symptoms, you will be free to leave self-isolation.
  • Avoid or minimise contact with the person with COVID-19 as much as possible during your isolation period.

Your child tests positive for Covid-19

  • Contact Cameron at school on 0211466732 or email
  • cameronlockie@silverdaleprimary.school.nz as soon as possible.
  • They will need to isolate for at least 10 days while they recover.
  • Their 10 days start from Day 0 — the day their symptoms started or the day they got tested.
  • They do not need to be tested to return to school on Day 11 as long as they are asymptomatic.

There is a helpful tool on the Unite Against COVID-19 website which calculates a person’s isolation period.

Find it here.

Netball registrations

Netball registrations are open for all children Year 2-Year6. Please see the Parents of Silverdale School page for link to registration or go to https://www.sporty.co.nz/viewform/193326 to complete the form. You can email me on silverdalesportshub@gmail.com for any queries. Registrations close Friday 18th March. Netball is played at Edith Hopper Park (Stanmore Bay) or Netball North Harbour (Northcote). Games are modified depending on age group. Each team will need a coach and manager. Without this, the kids will not be able to play. Information and support can be given to first time coaches. We are wanting these kids to develop a life long love of the beautiful game of netball!
