Silverdale School Board Casual vacancy for a parent representative

One of our Board Members will shortly be moving overseas, which means we have a casual vacancy for an elected parent representative.
The Board has decided to fill the vacancy by selection (rather than election); the alternative is to hold a by-election.

If 10% or more of eligible voters on the school roll ask the Board to hold a by-election (to fill the vacancy), within 28 working days of this notice being published, then a by-election will be held. If not, the Board will select an appropriate candidate from within our community.

Request for a by-election should be sent to: boardelections@silverdaleprimary.school.nz by Tuesday 28 June 2023.

If less than 10% of eligible voters request an election, the board can select a person to fill the casual vacancy for a parent representative.

If 10% (or more) of eligible voters request an election then the school will hold an election.
