Our 2018 focus at Silverdale School: Positive Behaviour for Learning (PB4L). The main focus for this initiative is to become a values-based school where we put the emphasis on ethical and emotional intelligence, deepened relationships, social cohesion and a strong values culture.
Our school values were choosen by our students and our staff.

Our Term 1 focus is on Atawhai, Kindness. We have been bucket fillers, done Random Acts of Kindness, created a whole school Kindness Quilt and had a real focus on being kind.
Our School Behaviour Setting Matrix makes it explicitly clear what our school wide expectations are for behaviour. The amazing Student Council runs fortnightly PB4L assemblies where they teach these values.
We have looked at the way we move around the school and why it is important to respect others when doing this.
We have also had a focus on Playground behaviour. It is important to take turns, share, show good sportsmanship, include others in our play to make our school community a happy place for all our tamariki.
