The BOT has developed the draft 2016 School Charter. If you wish to make comments on the charter please contact me by Monday 18 April. At the next BOT meeting we will be formally adopting the charter.
A school charter is: a document that outlines our school's vision and values and the important education goals and student outcomes our school is striving to meet or improve,
a tool to assist our board to make decisions aimed at raising student achievement, and
a document that contains our school's main targets for raising student achievement and the measures that will be taken to achieve these targets.
Welcome to our great school. My name is Cameron Lockie and I’m very privileged to be the principal of Silverdale School.
Silverdale School is a Year 1 to 8 primary school situated in the beautiful surroundings of Millwater in Silverdale.
Silverdale School is a wonderful school for everyone; children, parents, teachers, support staff, because we care for everyone that belongs to our school community. We all have the same goal and that’s to give our children the best opportunities to further their learning and to prepare them for their future.
The children at Silverdale School are very fortunate to have the highest quality teachers teaching them and teachers that are dedicated to actively prepare each child to take responsibility for their own life-long learning, values and behaviour.
Our vision statement is "Learn to Journey - Journey to Learn" and students, teachers and parents, in partnership, explore our passion and excitement for enriching our student’s pathway of learning. We continually add to our backpacks or kete of learning those attributes and skills we need for our learning journey.
We all have many opportunities ahead of us and I want everyone to make the most of what is offered to you. Take on new challenges, push yourself, do something new and make new friends. The more you put into your schooling and life the more you will get out of it.
As Dr Seuss says: “You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose.”
Make good choices this year, work hard, and give everything a go.
